Frequently Asked Questions about Custom Cabinetry

At McCall Cabinetry & Millwork, we understand that you may have questions about our services, products, and processes. To help you get the information you need quickly and easily, we have compiled a list of frequently asked questions. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact us directly.

We are open to work in other areas as well and often do work for clients in NY, NJ, DE, and VA

We fabricate custom cabinetry and millwork at our location.  

We also sell a line of RTA/DIY cabinetry called North Point.  These are some of the best RTA cabinets.  These can be delivered in boxes or fully assembled.   

We also sell Jeffrey Alexander Bath cabinetry and tops.  

North point and Jeffrey Alexander cabinets will be delivered in 2 to 3 weeks.  

Lead times for custom cabinetry projects can vary by type and size of the project as well as the current workload. It’s best to plan on 8 to 12 weeks.

We do not charge for design services if you go with us for your cabinetry project.  

Yes, we always work off of our drawings after they have been approved. 

We can provide:

  • Layout/Plan Drawings
  • Elevation Drawings, and
  • 3D Renderings in color

These are included in the cost of your project.  

Yes, we prefer to come out and do our own measurement verification.

We always do this as it is our responsibility to make sure everything fits properly.  

We often work with architects, interior designers, and contractors. 

We will work with any other group involved in your project.  

We are happy to make referrals if you need one.  

We can make cabinets out of any type of wood you desire:

  • White and Red Oak,
  • Cherry,
  • Hickory,
  • Walnut,
  • Sapele, and
  • Maple

 

Are all good options.  All hardwoods are a full 3/4″ thickness and FAS grade.

For painted cabinets, we use Maple.

We use cabinet-grade plywoods with a solid core.

Different veneers are available to match your selected wood.

For painted cabinets, we use a Maple veneer. All veneers are A1 grade.

Usually, a drawer box is made from 5/8″ hardwood with blind dovetail joints.

As a cost-saving measure when needed, we will use Baltic Birch.

We use soft-close hinges and drawer glides unless the customer specifies otherwise.

Drawer glides are full extension, undermount drawer glides.  

Our soft-close hinges  are adjustable.

We use a local moving company located in Frederick, MD. Delivery is white glove, meaning the cabinets are brought into your location and placed where they go. The cabinets are wrapped and unwrapped in moving blankets by the movers.

You can pick up your cabinets.

We can deliver small jobs, i.e. vanities etc.
